Thank you for stopping by Salt Creek Wife!

I’m Morie, also known as the Salt Creek Wife. I’m a Christ- follower, Texan, physician wife, and part time audiologist/ part time stay at home mama to one sweet baby girl and four sweet four-legged boys. I’m a proud Texas Tech alumnae, and 2 on the Enneagram. I love coffee, John Mayer, British history, the Pioneer Woman, Chick Fil A, reading, Target, fresh chocolate chip cookies, and (most of all) Jesus.

While you are here, you will likely hear about…

My husband and I met and started dating in the fall of 2012 when he started medical school and I started graduate school. We married in March 2016. He is a gastroenterology physician, retriever trainer for our three black labrador retrievers, and the best girl-dad to our sweet baby. His favorite things include soccer, Mexican food, waterfowl hunting, and training with the dogs.

Our baby girl, also known as Liv, Livy, Livy Anne, Livy Lou Who, Liver and Onions, and Hey, no, ma’am! She was born in February 2018. She’s quite the little mix of sweet and salty, and we absolutely love being her mom and dad!

The Salt Creek Retrievers

Ruger was born on March 27, 2016 and is the leader of their little pack, despite being the smallest of the pack. He is all business, and the best at what he does. We joke that he was “born forty”, and doesn’t play as much as the others– he’d much rather be retrieving or hanging right next to Steven.
Gump was born August 13, 2016, and is hands down the life of the party. He is a friend to all, and he is most attentive of Olivia, and comes running every time she makes a peep. He enjoys himself a great nap, but when it’s time to retrieve, he turns it on, and brings in birds with the best of ’em.
Pecos (Smith’s West Texas Windstorm) was born November 28, 2017, and is our little firecracker. He has family ties to both Ruger and Gump, and has qualities similar to both, plus his own flair. He has just started his retriever training, but already has the fire and love for retrieving and is working on getting his obedience down with it.

And last, but not least…

If you asked Boudreaux, I’m fairly certain he would tell you that he is also a black labrador retriever, just like his brothers, not a bullmastiff. He tries to retrieve and swim like the others, and is surprisingly good at it, although he tires of it quickly. He was born November 14, 2016 and is nothing but 115 pounds of sweetheart. He has a mind of his own, and enjoys doing what he wants, when and if he wants to do it, which typically means being nosy for about fifteen minutes at a time, and then crashing somewhere. He is head of Salt Creek Security around here- he can look pretty intimidating, and lets strangers know when he’s home!
